Jaguar driver and former Ferrari driver Eddie Irvine has said that the FIA should not ban Michael Schumacher as the Ferrari team prepare for the hearing into the Austrian GP. Only the podium antics are up for debate and Irvine believes the title is already won.

"The FIA can only do Michael for the podium fiasco," said Irvine. "Everything else was totally legitimate. And who really cares if they take the win away from him? Instead of winning the world title by 50 points, he will win it by 40."

"If he was banned from the next two races, he would still win the damned thing," he continued. "Unless they are going to ban him for five races, - and that would be artificial - there is no point in doing anything."
