Rubens Barrichello continued his fine form at Silverstone as he set the fastest time in Saturday free practice. The Brazilian led the way ahead of team mate Michael Schumacher.

The top three teams in the Constructors’ Championship filled the top six places at the end of this morning’s free practice and they came in two by two, Ferrari leading Williams and McLaren.

Rubens Barrichello set the pace for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro with a time of 1’20”230, around a couple of tenths quicker than Michael Schumacher (1’20”428.) Ralf Schumacher was quickest of the BMW-Williams in 1’20”748, while Juan Pablo Montoya did a 1’21”076. The Williams duo headed the McLaren-Mercedes of David Coulthard (1’21”326) and Kimi Raikkonen (1’21”768.) The Ferrari drivers totalled 50 laps this morning, 24 for Rubens and 26 for Michael.

The main agenda was defining the correct tyre choice for the rest of the weekend, with some changes made to the mechanical set-up of the F2002. Both drivers were reasonably happy with the handling of the cars and reckon they are in good shape for qualifying.

Despite not having run on Friday, Heinz-Harald Frentzen was ninth for Arrows while his team-mate Enrique Bernoldi was 15th.
