Silverstone will be hoping to pass what Max Mosley has described as their ‘acid test’ tomorrow when they stage the 2002 British Grand Prix. The British circuit has come under fierce criticism from the FIA after many years of extensive traffic problems for the spectators attending the event.

However in order to amend these problems Silverstone has spent £100 million on improvements in a bid to please the FIA and the paying public. Mosley so far has seen a marked improvement in certain area’s but tomorrow will be the big test. And still Max feels the circuit could improve many other areas surrounding this event.

"So far so good," he said. "I think the new roads are a huge improvement and when they are finished it will really be night and day compared to the old days. Tomorrow is the acid test. It is much better than it's ever been on a Saturday but it's Sunday that will really tell.

"They have made their case so far. We really wanted to see something done. I really think they have made a very impressive effort. It is still a little bit chaotic in the circuit. They perhaps have not got as good a system of signs, routes, roads and people in charge as they could have. But you cannot expect them to do everything at once. Hopefully next year they will have proper access roads, proper organisation in the circuit and everybody will do it properly."
