The British Grand Prix was a great race, probably the best race of the season as far as drama goes. What with a Ferrari 1-2 and the comedy pit-stops by McLaren and Williams it was all good, apart from one nasty moment by Juan Pablo Montoya.

Rubens did just that and began to press the Williams all the way, as usual for Montoya he however was not so clean in his racing and when the move on him came from Barrichello it was time to see Montoya once again react badly. We seen the way Montoya refuses to accept being passed at the Nurburgring where he took out himself and David Coulthard rather than lose a position and once again at Silverstone we seen the same.
As Rubens made his move on the pit straight and going inside of Juan into turn 1 it was seen that Juan turned his wheel in on Rubens, this is seen best from on board with Montoya where you can clearly see that he could see Rubens alongside and not full passed yet he turned in. So why?
Well my opinion is that this was once again another moment of spiteful hatred to lose a place by Montoya and that he aimed to nudge Rubens left rear tyre taking him into a spin and probably out of the race. The only thing that stopped this from happening was that Juan reacted too late and he knew it was lost and quickly turned back out, but the movement was there, clear to see in the normal camera and more so onboard with this madman of the track.
As mentioned above Juan is no stranger to incident when being passed, Coulthard has suffered. Michael Schumacher has suffered at Austria 2001 and Malaysia 2002. Montoya has also tried his very best to remove Michael at any possible chance and now he is turning this red mist onto other drivers. He once said he is a fair racer, not so judging by his record. He was the one branding the Schumacher chop as dangerous, but given the chance he proceeds to do the same, only nowhere near as effective as a genuine Schumi-Chop!
Rubens Barrichello made no big deal of this incident in after race interviews, but that was probably well before he had a chance to replay this incident, which he would not have noticed in his cockpit at the time. Maybe now he will have seen it and realised just how lucky he was not to be sent spinning into the tyres at high speed by a bad loser driving a Williams.
