Rubens Barrichello will start tomorrow’s race from third place, just behind team-mate Michael Schumacher. The Brazilian was in the running for pole right up to the end of the session, fighting with Montoya and Schumacher.

“Third place is still good, especially as the gap is very small,” said Rubens Barrichello. “Obviously in a session where you are very quick, you hope to get pole, but Montoya was very good and my fourth run was less than perfect. So, all in all, I can be happy with the result. The team did a great job, really improving the car between free practice and qualifying.”

“I am confident for tomorrow’s race,” continued Rubens. “This track changes all the time, depending on the temperature. The Michelins seem to be working well, but consistency is important for us and that is normally what we are in the races.”
