Q: How emotional has it been for you?
Luca di Montezemolo: For me today is a fantastic emotion because to be very honest with you, I did not expect at the beginning of the season, after three important seasons like 99, 2000 and 2001 to win in this way. For me the fantastic satisfaction is because behind this victory there is a spirit, there is a fantastic team, there is really good fantastic persons and the best driver that has ever driven a Ferrari in Ferrari history.
Q: Michael was very modest, saying it was because he had the best team behind him. How important was it to get people like Todt, Byrne and Brawn behind the team?
LdeM: I think that without Jean Todt, Ferrari was never able to win as Ferrari won, so I have to thank Todt and on his behalf all the people of the team. To build fantastic cars you need fantastic team spirit and fantastic persons. Thank God we have got them.
Q: You have been hungry for so long because you didn't win, does that mean that you want to keep on winning and winning and making yourself even better?
LdeM: I think that to win in life is difficult but to win again is even more difficult so we know that this cannot continue forever, because this is the law of sport, but we will do our best is continue to be on top and we want to maintain this position and we will do our best to continue, but we respect our rivals and we know that sooner or later we will lose, but we want to do it as late as possible.
Q: What is it about Michael Schumacher that makes him so special?
LdeM: He's the best driver I've ever seen in my life, particularly in the race, with the capability to maintain a qualifying lap for 70 laps without making mistakes. I think that he's the driver who has always been very close to the team, very close to the spirit of the team, particularly in the difficult moments, and last but not least, he's a guy who understands that to win today is important to have a strong car and a strong team and I respect him for this and I'm very, very happy for him. He's in the history of Formula One.
Q: How important is this for Italy?
LdeM: It's very important because Ferrari represents a legend in our country but at this moment I want to thank all the Ferrari tifosi in your country and all over the world because I'm very happy when I see so many Ferrari flags on the circuit from the first race in Melbourne until the last race in Suzuka.
Q: There was speculation over recent weeks that you may be stepping down as president. Has this result changed your mind, what is the situation?
LdeM: The situation is that now we concentrate on celebrating this fantastic important victory and then we will think of the future.
