With the 2002 drivers title being won in the French GP it is with high spirits that the Ferrari team arrive in Germany for the next round of the 2002 F1 season. With only a week’s gap between the races there has been little time for the team to really celebrate the title success, but come this weekend in Germany the team will be able to witness a home coming party for Germany’s hero Michael Schumacher.

But the racing goes on and wins are still to be achieved in order to firmly secure the 2002 constructor’s title and at the new look Hockenheim Ferrari will be once again on the pace and favourites to win the race. Michael Schumacher does not enjoy the best of records here but he will be pressure free and relaxed enough to take the race as it come. For Rubens Barrichello the pain he suffered in France has the chance to be wiped out on a return to the venue of his maiden victory in F1. The Brazilian driver will be given all the support he needs now in his quest to be second behind Schumacher in the title standings.

With the track layout being massively changes it remains to be seen who will be on the pace from the off and who can find the best lines and set-up in the opening practice sessions, but with this race coming back to back with the French GP it has given the teams no time to rest and its all go.

The F2002 has shown no weakness on any circuit this season and that pattern will hopefully continue this weekend. With McLaren and Williams beginning to take points away from each other now it gives Ferrari the chance to really extend a massive points advantage at the front. The Bridgestone tyres will work well in the cooler German conditions but as we seen in France heat it no longer a real problem to the Japanese rubber. So it looks likely that once again Ferrari will be winning this race and taking even more points in a dominant season.
