“It was an exciting qualifying session and the car worked well. Probably we lost out a bit in terms of lap time, given that we opted for the harder tyre,” said Brawn. “However, all in all this puts us in a good position for tomorrow, when we are expecting it to be hotter. I think tomorrow’s race will be very interesting. It will be important to make a good start, but strategy will also be very important, because pit stops might be a way to make up some valuable places.”
“I am not actually surprised at Michael’s performance. We all knew there would be no change in his determination,” said Brawn commenting on Michael’s desire to do well at this track. “Formula 1 drivers are highly paid, but what they do springs from their passion. Michael loves to race and so he never lets up. On top of that, winning here would be great for his fans and it would really be the icing on the cake after winning the world championship!”
