The second Friday practice session for the 2010 Canadian GP would see Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg finish in 12fth and 13th. Both drivers continued struggled to find a balance with their cars, despite the improvements made to the FW32. Rubens would see his session hindered by a hydraulic problem that saw him miss a great part of the session completing just twenty seven laps.

 Canadian GP Friday 2nd Practice

After a promising first Friday practice the AT&T Williams team would see their drivers finish in ninth and tenth. The team was running with new aero parts including a new front wing and was hopeful of seeing improvements in their pace. The second Friday practice session for the 2010 Canadian Grand Prix would commence with both Williams drivers taking to the track early.

Very early in the session Nico would set the quickest time with a lap of 1m:21.606 while Rubens was in fourth with 1m:24.683. Nico would improve with a 1m:19.746 to again be fastest. Rubens was still in fourth but as more drivers took to the track the new fastest time was set by Hamilton with a time of 1m:18.659, which he lowered with a 1m:18.421. Button was second as Rubens improved to again be fourth with a 1m:18.751 behind Kubica in third. Again Hamilton would improve with a 1m:17.522 to remain fastest. For Rubens a quick lap would be spoilt when he was to spin off but was able to continue and returned to his pit.

At the front it was now Rosberg who was fastest with a lap time of 1m:17.277. Several drivers were taking to the grass including Rosberg at Turn eight. Both Red Bull cars were down the order with Vettel and Webber in twelfth and fourteenth. Both would improve to now be in eighth and eleventh. Webber would move up to ninth while Vettel would continue his move up the order to be second while Webber was now fourth. With thirty minutes of the session completed Nico was now in twelfth and Rubens, who set an improved time of 1m:18.624, was now thirteenth. Drivers would be coming back out for their second runs while Vettel set a 1m:17.194 to be just behind Rosberg. Alonso was now third as the softer rubber was seen for the first time as Vettel improved on these tyres to see him fastest with a time of 1m:17.141.

On his next lap Vettel would set a time of 1m:16.877 to now be 0.274 ahead of Rosberg. On the softer tyre Massa was now up to fourth, 1m:17.439, while Webber had moved up to third, 1m:17.304. Alonso was now in second as the session moved into its last half hour. Alonso would improve with a 1m:16.963 but remained second. Drivers were complaining of graining with the softer tyre especially with the rear tyres. With six minutes remaining Vettel was still fastest with a 1m:16.877, with Alonso second, Rosberg third, Webber fourth and Massa fifth.

Rubens was able to set a time of 1m:18.385 to move ahead of Nico, and with the end of the session Rubens and Nico would finish in twelfth and thirteenth. The gap to the fastest drivers was now out to 1.5 seconds as both drivers struggled to find a balance with their cars. For Rubens his session was also hindered by a hydraulic problem that saw him miss a great part of the session completing just twenty seven laps compared to Nico's forty one.
