Team Summary:
The second Friday practice for the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix would commence with the majority of the drivers using the medium tyre. the early quickest time would come from Kvyat with a 1m:27.468. Stroll would go quicker with a 1m:27.179 using the soft tyre. Ricciardo was third on the hard while we had both Ferrari's running on the medium tyre. Hulkenberg would go quickest with a 1m:27.130 using the soft tyre. Gasly was now third followed by Kvyat and Ocon. Both Renault's were on the hard tyre as we saw Bottas go quickest with a 1m:25.917 set on the medium tyre. Stroll was second but Hulkenberg would take this spot with Albon now fourth. At the front Hamilton had gone quickest with a 1m:25.911 followed by Bottas and Verstappen. Hamilton had used the soft tyre for his quick run. Hulkenberg was now fourth followed by Norris, Stroll, Albon, Sainz, Ocon and Gasly tenth.

Bottas on the soft tyre for the first time would set a 1m:25.782 to be quickest from Hamilton and Verstappen. Hulkenberg would improve his la time compared to his soft tyre lap time. Stroll would do the same to move into fourth. Leclerc on the soft tyre would go sixth followed by Norris and Ricciardo, Gasly and Albon. Both Williams drivers were out on soft tyre runs but were yet to improve on their medium tyre times. On the medium tyre Hamilton would go quickest with a 1m:25.606 seeming to support the view that the medium tyre was the quicker between the soft and the medium. Both Red Bull cars were out on the soft tyres joined by Ricciardo. The Renault driver was now third behind Bottas. Verstappen and Albon were fourth and 13th. The Williams drivers were down the times in 16th and 19th. The last half an hour would see drivers coming out for longer runs with the majority using the medium tyre. The only team to be using the hard tyre was the Renault team.

As the session drew to a close the order was Hamilton, Bottas, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Stroll, Hulkenberg, Leclerc, Norris, Sainz, and Ocon tenth. The Williams drivers on their longer runs were still in 16th and 19th. The session would be red flagged as we had Giovinazzi stopped on the circuit. The session would not be restarted ending the first day of the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix weekend. The results of the session would not raise any surprises with George again finishing ahead of Nicholas. Again the results showed that Williams Racing is significantly faster than in 2019 but yet to move into that proper midfield battle.

George Russell:
George would also take to the track also using the medium tyre with ten minutes of the session completed. A 1m:28.049 from George using the medium tyre to be 15th dropping to 16th as his team-mate went quicker. George was still running and would set a 1m:27.320 to be 11th. George was just 0.398 behind 4th placed Hulkenberg who had used soft tyres to set his time. George would pit after a five lap run. Shortly after he would return this time on the soft tyre. George would pit after a six lap run on the soft tyre. George would also return but this time using the medium tyre. He would be on a longer run on this tyre with fifteen minutes remaining in the session. George would pit after a eighteen lap run on the medium tyre.

Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would be first out for Williams using the medium tyre. Nicholas would set a 1mL28.606 to be 13th. He would improve with a 1m:28.282 to remain 13th. he would drop to 14th but a quicker lap of 1m:27.683 would see Nicholas 11th. He would drop to 12th having completed six laps. He would pit currently 13th having completed a seven lap run. With fifty minutes remaining Nicholas would return using the soft tyre. Nicholas would query as to why he was so slow on this tyre with his engineer explaining where had lost time. Nicholas would also pit after a six lap run currently 19th. With just over 30 minutes remaining Nicholas was back out on another set of soft tyres. With the red flag Nicholas would pit completing 14 laps on the medium tyre.
