Despite Raikkonen's improvement, the weekend was all about Felipe Massa and Jenson Button. The Ferrari driver could only manage a single press conference appearance, but used that to good effect by increasing his average to 4.5 per event with an impressive five 'for sure's' in that time. However, it was Brawn GP's Jenson Button that astounded viewers, the Briton increasing his total count by an astonishing 12 FS's, eight of which came in a single press conference.
It seems that everything is going right for Button at the moment, but the same isn't true for team mate Rubens Barrichello, who failed to get a single 'for sure' over the entire weekend, despite having two opportunities.
A relative newcomer to F1, Sebastien Bourdais got off the mark in his second conference of the year, jumping straight to fourth in the championship with three utterances of the magic phrase.
Special mention has to be made of Adrian Sutil. The Force India driver stunned onlookers by getting 'for sure' in to a sentence within 6.9s of the first question being asked, a time that will be very difficult to beat.
Mark Webber continues to disappoint, failing to appear in any monitored press conference over the weekend, and languishes in last place. Red Bull really do need to work hard on their For Sure strategy, as Sebastian Vettel also had a poor weekend, struggling to manage a single 'for sure' on the Wednesday press call. After a total of 15 appearances, Red Bull prop up the table with just three recorded 'for sure's'.
"There's clear evidence that Red Bull are struggling to integrate the latest developments in For Sure usage in to their team, although a step upgrade was seen at Monaco," explained F1 language consultant Elaine Conedoff. "By the time the F1 circus hits Turkey, we expect to see quite an improvement, but it will require a lot of effort from the Red Bull press office if the drivers are to catch Felipe Massa."
F1's language standards adjudicator, Major Nameup, remains displeased with developments thus far. "We are acutely aware of the efforts Jenson Button is going to undermine our efforts to outlaw the use of the words 'for' and 'sure' when placed together unnecessarily in a sentence. As a role model to the country, and indeed the world, he really should be making more of an effort to avoid the use, so we can only assume his current record is intentional. This cannot continue as it is but, at the end of the day, I go to sleep."
