Mercedes GP-Henkel deal ends up... being a fraud?

Today shocking news emerged. MercedesGP is on the verge of losing one of its major sponsorships in place for the 2010 season. The deal was reported to be worth 90 million Euros, but Henekl is claiming that it was signed by an employee without the permission to do so.

Apparently the deal had been put in place already back in May, but it wasn't till September that Henkel informed Daimler about the fraud, during the time frame of Mercedes buyout.

It is being reported too that the consume products company had filed up a suit against the F1 team, BrawnGP, back in November.

An investigation revealed that the head of sponsorship of Henkel, and two other workers, had put in place a "Machiavellian" strategy to get the deal which they expected to partially pay with loans of up to 44 million Euros.

While part of that quantity is missing, Henkel is seeking to avoid honoring the contract...but will Mercedes let escape such an important deal, so easily?

Hekel was a sponsor of the Mclaren-Mercedes team in the past.
