Barcelona Test
10:03:2009 Day Two
The AT&T Williams team would
return to the Circuit de Catalunya for the second day of their four day
test. For the second day it would be Kazuki Nakajima who was given the task
of working through the teams test schedule, including testing of the
Melbourne aero upgrade package, set-up work and reliability checks.
The
day would see a damp track in the morning but by mid morning it would be a
dry track for the rest of the day. On his last day in Barcelona,
Kazuki completed sixty six
laps and he would show some pace from the FW31 by setting the second fastest
time of the day with a 1m:20.907. The only moment during the day was when Kazuki would cause a red flag
mid afternoon when he would stop between turn 10 and 11 with an unknown
problem. Nico Rosberg will take over the testing duties tomorrow.
Williams F1 Test Team Manager Dickie Stanford commented: “Kazuki carried on
further development of the FW31 today. We had some changes to make to the
car over the course of the day so a bit of track time was lost in the garage
making those revisions, we therefore didn’t get in as many laps as we’d have
liked. Nico will take over work tomorrow.”
