Regarding the news some expected about Sauber
By The Offsider - BMWF1Talk
January 15 2010
Some of our readers were unhappy that we didn't unveil anything major today, and we can't blame them, but it was for a reason. For starters trying not to influence negatively or publish something that my not be the final outcome. We should remind, too, that we were cautious enough to put a probability indicator, "may", as we were aware the news would not necessarily emerge today.

Surprisignly some media outlets and readers misunderstood yesterday's article and some even claimed we were affirming that today Friday BMW Sauber would announce their driver line up, which is false; we never said that.We didn't even mention the word "driver", as it may not be necessarily that what we were referring to.

So for these "events" we will be rather updating our Twitter , with some bits of info -and sometimes speculation-. There for example you will learn why Fisichella wasn't all day at Madona di Campligio event on Thursday...

All in all, we apologize if anyone felt disappointed, but believe us, we  are doing the right thing. Once everything is set in stone and unveiled, we will gladly write an article of what happened behind the scenes.

No problem guys, I bet all the comments were considered friendly and dissapointed with how things turned out rather than dissapointed with editors team.

You can't put sources at risk and I am thankful you keep researching. You guys are fans first and editors second so I don't wonder you are really hungry to know and then publish what Sauber team is doing.

I bet there was a good chance to jump all well respected media to get news earlier. Worth to try...

Keep up the good work. The traffic of posts is at its lowest now, so I don't blame the effort to stir the interest.

I really hope the delay brings team to better resolution than to the worst.

No reason for apologies.

I don't get it. How come Fisichella was in Hinwil yesterday, since he took part in Ferrari media event in Italy eye rolling smiley

Since he left "Madona di..." at 5am and returned at night. Plus the event place and Hinwil are merely separated by 300km winking smiley

He had been given permission to leave by Ferrari, with the "theoretic" excuse that it was to celebrate his birthday

And he went to Hinwil just to say hello to Peter? Don't tell me that he will be a reserve driver both for Ferrari & Sauber...

No. It is very clear that he went to negotiate for the 2nd seat at Sauber. Will he be in the end?

All I can say is that he didn't sign a (final) contract with Sauber, and that he is still fighting with De la Rosa for the seat.

OK. Thanks for clarification. So it seems that recent reports that De la Rosa announcement is "a matter of time" was a bit misleading...

Not really. At that time that sentence was totally correct. Things have changed in the last few hours, but De la Rosa is still in a strong position.

You will see how it unfolds rather soon
