Aussie speedster Mark Webber, who joins the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team next year alongside David Coulthard, took to the skies over Perth on Saturday as a special guest passenger at the Red Bull Air Race World Series.

Webber and  performed valiantly in the cockpit of the two-seat racing plane flown by pilot Hannes Arch and expressed plenty of emotion upon landing.

“It was fascinating, incredible, really daring,” said Webber. “I often didn’t know where we were and felt queasy at times.”

Red Bull Air Race key facts

 

·          The Red Bull Air Race is a high-speed race through inflatable Air Gates laid out to form a slalom course. Eleven pilots race against the clock, manoeuvring their aircraft at speeds of up to 400 km/h and withstanding forces of 10 G.
