Red Bull Racing Designers have been working closely with vacuum cleaner innovator James Dyson to ensure the RB7 shows the opposition a clean pair of heels this season.
It has emerged that during the race the drivers can operate a flap channeling air to create a suction vortex under the vehicle which literally pulls the car onto the ground. The new device based on technology used within the popular household cleaners is known as an Air Flap Dysolo, or AFD.
Helmut Marko refused to comment on the device, but his brother, Dusty, said that he expects another clean sweep of both championships this season.
McLaren are thought to be considering an official complaint to the FIA on the grounds that the device sucks.
Really good, but reality is often even better.....
Niki Lauda won the swedish grand prix in 1978 with a vaccum fan mounted at the back of the Brabham car .... he was in a league of his own......this one might have something in it
