Toyota had a reasonable Qualifying for the 2007 Hungarian Grand Prix at Budapest with both drivers, German Ralf Schumacher and Italian Jarno Trulli getting into the top 10. Ralf ending up the better of the two in sixth position whilst Jarno finished in ninth place.

Both had, had a reasonable session leading up to the pole shoot out, Jarno putting in a star performance in Q2 where he finished in Third place and so was disappointed to end up in 9th come the final session. Ralf's 6th place time was a 1.20.714 while Jarno's 9th place time was a 1.21.206, a good team effort overall and points a possibility for tomorrow for both drivers.

Up front controversy rained. Spanish double and reigning World Champion Fernando Alonso took pole position on a time of 1.19.674 but many have criticized the World Champion for what look like him sabotaging his rookie team mate Lewis Hamilton's chance at a final lap and a shot at pole. Alonso had come into the pits to change tires for a final lap of pole, when this was down the lollipop went up and Alonso did not move....for 11 seconds. During this time Hamilton was stacked up behind Fernando waiting for his new tires. Te result was Alonso got another lap in which was his pole position time while Hamilton did not meaning his provisional pole time of 1.19.781 turned out to be his overall time for second position. Expect fireworks off the start tomorrow.

Nick Heidfeld has been strong all weekend and continued his form finishing third on a 1.20.259 beating Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen into 4th place. Nico Robserg in the Williams-Toyota was 5th just ahead of Ralf who rounded out the top 6.

Robert Kubica finished 7th on a 1.20.876 ahead of Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella, who is under investigation for blocking Spyker's new driver Sakon Yamamoto in the first part of Qualifying. Jarno and Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber rounded out the top 10, the latters time a 1.21.256.

David Coulthard was a good 11th in the second Red Bull car ahead of Renault's Heikki Kovavalien who felt he had been blocked by Coulthard's team mate Webber. Alex Wurz was a reasonable 13th but championship contender Felipe Massa struggled in the second Ferrari. His car even stopping at the end of the pit lane meaning Massa had only time for one flying lap thus his disappointing grid slot in 14th position with a time of  1.21.021.

Anthony Davidson was 15th and showed new Qualifying form beating his team mate and both Honda factory cars. Scuderia Toro Rossi recently sacked American driver Scott Speed in favor of German Rookie and long time Red Bull protoge Sebastian Vettel. The other Toro Rosso Driver, Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi has his head next on the chopping block but made it through to the second phase of qualifying, finishing in 16th place on a time of 1.21.993. Vettel was 20th, not too bad for a driver who only drove the car for the first time yesterday.

Honda's struggle continued. Jenson Button and team mate Rubens Barrichello could only manage 17h and 18th respectively, however they did beat one Super Aguri; Takuma Sato finishing in 20th.

As usual the Spyker's bought up the rear. In-Demand rookie Adrian Sutil beat new team mate Sakon Yamamoto to 21st place. Yamamoto bringing up the rear.

I usually say it promises to be a great race, but the Hunagoring is short on excitement levels. However, 2006's rain fest where Jenson Button came from 14th to win was a great exception, and with both Mclaren driver seemingly at civil war and a slight chance of rain for tomorrow...it COULD be a corker!
