Wassamatta with Da Matta?

Toyota have not been able to secure the services of Brazillian Christiano Da Matta as a replacement for Allan McNish in 2003. The team want a Brazillian driver for 2003 in order that the brand may be promoted in South America. Christiano has decided to remain with the CART series.  There have been difficulties in buying de Matta out of his very expensive contract.  Toyota was apparently considering him for a testing role.

The team has admitted that they have been in talks with Anthony Davidson.

The Brazillian who is looking for a seat next season is Sauber's Felipe Massa who has been ousted in favour of Heinz Harald Frentzen.
