Barcelona was woken up today by the rumble of Toyota's V8 engine, fitted in it's TF106, which was launched, much to everybody's surprise, yesterday.

Following his first few laps with this new, less powerful engine, Jarno Trulli commented "I expected it to be worse."

"The engine doesn't vibrate, the engineers did a good job," the Italian said. "For us drivers the ultimate top speed is not the challenge. The lap and quick cornering is. I would say I expected it to be worse. Everything is new on the car, but it was not hard to get used to it. It was easier then we thought it would be. We still have a lot of work to do, but we have a slight idea in which direction we have to go."

The TF106 was fitted with Toyota's new rubber, Bridgestone tyres. "The tyres are quite different then the Michelins," The Italian continued, "but I'm happy we have the car this early. We have all winter to improve it."

Jarno and Ricardo settling in to their new homes today
