Webber's Australian GP Thoughts

By Ian Lockwood
March 18 2011

Mark Webber shares his thoughts ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

"As an Australian I'm looking forward to Melbourne being the first race. We've done a huge amount of testing and a lot of work has gone into the cards - now we'll put them through their paces at Albert Park and lots of questions will be answered. Its going to be an eventful weekend, especially as the weather can be a bit hit and miss. We'll learn a lot about the tyres which will play a huge role. I hope I can improve my luck there as it hasn't been incredible since my first GP in '02. I hope to get my best result aand there's every indication we can do that. This is the best winter we've had - lets hope we can carry it on into the first event"

f1man, Alex Yoong finished 7th but would have finished higher. Irvine put that Jag in 4th where it didn't belong.

Webbull, sorry for interpreting the facts differently than you.

But if you are not up to debate you don't belong here fanboy.

Or should I read into your statement the Webber fanboy whining has already begun?

phatjack what do you mean when you say Alex yoong would have finished higher? why would have he? that doesn't make any sense?

If yoong would have finished higher he would have finished higher but he didn't.

Phat,
you are saying a HRT finishing 5th this weekend would not be a great result for that team and the driver of the team who achived that, from memory the minardi had not rolled a wheel in testing either in that year!! Pretty damn impressive if you ask me, or should we wait and see where HRT finish this weekend to finish this debate?

Of course, that depends how high you rate Yoong? Interesting interview on F1 Rejects. Enjoyed his candid comments on driving V8's.

ALEX IS AN F1 LEGEND PHAT

GOSH EVEN YOU KNOW THAT !

WHATS YOUR POINT? whoops caps sorry

phatjack

F1man, my point was Alex was unlucky due to brake problems to finish 3 laps down. Mark finished 2 laps down and the fan boys think it was special.

Your point fails (as ever) because Mark lost his diff, his traction control, and 20+ seconds in a botched pitstop.
