Fabrice Lom, Engine coordinator for Red Bull Renault, answers our questions...

Yet another one-two for Red Bull Renault in Germany, which was made all the more special as it was the first victory for Mark Webber...
Absolutely! I've known Mark for many years way back when was a F3000 driver for the Arrows Junior Team, where I was working as the race engineer for Pedro De La Rosa. I get on very well with Mark, and it's wonderful to see him finally win a Grand Prix. The whole team is delighted for him as he is a great guy who respects everybody in the garage. The second place for Sebastian made us even happier and it's definitely a race that will stick in my memory.

So was it a trouble-free weekend?
Not at all! Right from Friday practice through to the race, nothing was straightforward. The weekend began with the engine mysteriously stopping on Sebastian's car on Friday, which cost him some precious track time. Then, in qualifying we had to cope with the changeable conditions which made the track sometimes wet and sometimes dry. At the start of the race, Mark made contact with Barrichello and then had the penalty in the race, but we rose to these challenges and got there in the end.

The Hungaroring is all about low-speed corners - will this have a specific impact on the engine?
No, not really. The two characteristics of the circuit that will affect the engine the most are the temperatures and the bumpy nature of the track. It's usually very hot in Budapest and because the average speed of the cars is low, you can have issues with overheating. The bumps can lead to over-revving, which needs to be controlled. If you can master these factors, this is actually quite a straightforward circuit for the engines.
