Mark and Seb look ahead to Sepang
Mark Webber:
“Malaysia is obviously very, very hot, so the track temperature is very hard on the tyres, which needs managing. The track is beautiful to drive on; you really get to feel the sensation of a Formula One car, particularly in the middle sector. It’s a great venue and, as a track, it has different demands to the Melbourne circuit, so that’s something we’ll be looking to get on top of very quickly.”
Sebastian Vettel:
“The Malaysia Circuit is actually more difficult than it seems. It has big run off areas and a broad track, meaning it appears easy, but it's not. The heat, high humidity and weather aren’t the only challenges, as the main thing is to find the ideal car set up. There are two straights of almost one kilometre, but you also need a lot of wing on the car to create enough downforce for the corners, so it requires skill to find the right compromise. It’s good to go there off the back of Australia and I hope we get another strong result.”

Webber has to beat Vettel here or it's going to be 2011 all over again. He's already been outclassed once this year. He has to stamp his authority on this season right now, even if they can't catch the Mclarens at this stage.
My view is that if Seb out-races Mark in Sepang, it's all over.

Agree he has to stamp his authority, Ozzy, but a bit simplistic to say he was outclassed by Seb in race 1.
He had his usual shocking start, then had it all to do in the race. However, he did outqualify Seb, with no KERS (question whether Seb had KERS in quali either - heard some reports that he didn't). His race pace was pretty close too, with his fair share of purple laps.
Definitely closer to Seb than the start of last year, so will be interesting to see how it pans out. His bigger issue could be that the Maccas are just too strong for the RBR this year.

Fair point but you can't really have an achilles heel at this level. It's like JB and his quali skills. He's always that couple of tenths off Hamilton and that may be why he wasn't fully in the hunt in 2010.
Surely Mark and Red Bull can sort out the starts. They must know why he's become so bad at it?

His starts are as frustrating as hell!
I'm sure he has lots of interesting debriefs and discussions about them with his team and bosses!

I think Mark must hold his breath fr the warm up lap, and by the time the lights go out he is semi conscious. It is the only explanation!
I do notice that he never swerves near as much as Vettel, but then I guess the team would know the tyre temps, so this couldn't be the answer...
