David Coulthard is disappointed abouth the move from V10 engines to V8. He does think, however that switching from the Cosworth engine to a Prancing Horse powerplant is a move that will enable Red Bull to progress throughout the season.

Speaking to "Speed TV" Coulthard, a Grand Prix Driver Association Director and advocate of increased safety, said that he agreed that something needed to be done to reduce speeds, but would still rather have the horsepower of a V10 behind him. He also doubted that the V8's will reduce top speeds much "Ultimately, we'll still end up doing the big top speed, because they'll just give us the wing to achieve it. I'm disappointed about going to V8 and losing horse power."

He voiced his approval of Dietrich Mateschitz' decision to ditch Cosworth in favour of Ferrari, due to the limited resources of Cosworth. Last year Red Bull recieved one power upgrade mid season, whilst many of it competitors getting increments at virtually every other race.

When asked about Red Bull Ferrari's chance of moving up the grid in 2006, DC would not be drawn into making rash predictions -  "No way of knowing," he said. "After all these years in F1, I would not presume to buy into the BS of simulations say this, or they say that. The best simulation is the racetrack."
