There are reports coming out of Brazil that four Toyota media personnel have been involved in an incident with a Gunman in Sao Paulo.

The group were returning the team hotel in Sao Paulo after Friday Free Practice Session for the final Race of the 2006 F1 Season at Interlargos.

The incident happend about kilometres away from the Interlargos circuit and was a random act in no way related to the Panasonic Toyota Racing F1 Team. Thankfully the group have escaped unharmed.

Toyota Spokesman Fernando Villa-Boas de Mello was present at the incident and spoke to PA Sport saying: "It was a violent incident of the kind that can take place here.

"We had stopped at a set of traffic lights and there were a group of teenagers approaching several cars. They also approached ours.

"They would not have known there were Toyota personnel inside the car as it has blacked-out windows.'' He continued;

"One person tried to kick in a window, and then there were shots fired. He didn't want to shoot us, he just wanted to rob us.

"We eventually managed to pull away. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but we are shocked."
