The race driver line up surrounding Toyota is now completely settled with the news that 2002 driver Allan McNish has secured a test seat at Renault. McNish's team mate, Mika Salo, has retired from the sport - under a cloud of bitterness for Toyota it seems. The news was announced this morning by several media outlets, having been widely rumoured yesterday (the 8th). The Scot had been linked to a move to America's Indy Racing League as the 2002 F1 season came to a close.

McNish will play a bigger part testing for the Renault team, than any other Renault tester before. The French team are among the few that have agreed to limit their testing dates, and take up the option of the 2 hour Friday Grand Prix test session. Allan will be undertaking his duties here alongside regular drivers Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso under the gaze of the spectators, the TV audience and the worlds press.

Renault have also signed Frenchman Franck Montagny, who will also be undertaking test duties for the team.

TotallyToyotaF1 wish Allan well in his new F1 role.
