San Marino: Looking Ahead

Imola has provided us with some great racing since we started visiting in 1981. Of course, we have seen the sad deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger on that tragic weekend in 1994.

However, hopefully things will be a bit brighter in Imola 2005, after the long 3 week break before the Europe season begins.

Toyota wont be lazing around in this time though, with all four drivers testing in Barcelona.

Expect yet more new developments appearing on the TF105 in San Marino, “A
Grand Prix season is about constant development and we are taking nothing
for granted,” said Mike Gascoyne, technical director chassis. “We are
competitive now and we want to stay that way.”

The GP at Imola is likely to be at least 20 degrees C cooler than the past 2 races, which should prove to be easier on the cars.

The San Marino GP of 2004 saw Jarno finishing in 5th in the Renault, and the Ralf driven Williams crossing the line 7th.
