Ferrari have been blasted 'unfair' by the Toyota Racing team due to their decision to ignore the gentleman's agreement over testing. Of course, they are not breaking any rules as this was a voluntary unanimous decision by the 'group of nine'

The Italian team has never agreed to partake in the agreement to a 30-day test limit, and therefore gone under great criticism for putting it's interests before those of our sport.

Ralf has blasted his brother's team on the German RTL network, “What Ferrari are doing is unfair to everyone else.

“We restrict ourselves and Ferrari carry on testing happily. I don’t understand this at all.

“We at Toyota and maybe the other eight teams could also test but we adhere to the rules.

“We’re interested in Formula 1 carrying on for a long time, while Ferrari are not. That’s not the right way.”

Ferrari's strong showing at Imola at the weekend was no doubt advantaged by it's vigorous testing scheme. John Howett believes the gentleman's agreement is starting to break down. ''Either [they]join the...teams or we need to find some sort of compromise. ''Otherwise people will start to test remorselessly.''

''But I don't think [everyone] can ... accept Ferrari driving off into the distance. We have to consider what we need to do to ... remain competitive.''
