The conclusions from the race at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal were full of 'if's.' Now we all know that, although IF is F1 spelt backwards, it is such a short word with great insignificance in the sport.

But just think a minute...what if?

What is Juan Pablo went to his local specsavers before the race. Maybe they'd have found that he can't tell the difference between red and green and the team would have taken precautionary action.

But maybe the blame doesn't all lie with Montoya for missing out on his first victory in a dismal season for the Woking-based outfit. Maybe if he was brought in rightly before the Iceman, Kimi would have been disqualified for being colourblind...What if?

Don't forget if Giancarlo Fisichella's hydraulics didn't give up, he would have been a potential winner for the race, as would fellow renault-boy Alonso.

"Couldn't possibly, I'm driving in the morning."

But the biggest heartache lies with our Jarno Trulli. Our sole-podium scorer was on track for another podium for the German-Japanese squad when his brakes failed. I've heard that Toyota lost telemetary with the car during the race leaving them clueless about the developing dilemma, and Jarno not knowing the potential death-trap he was driving. Thanks to the gods of Formula 1 that there was no barrier or wall there at the time, or we may have been watching Panis  driving a broken-legged Trulli's car in the USA...What if?

At least however, we got minor consolation that Schumacher was able to bring his TF105 home in 6th, with 3 valuable points.

Bad news now, this has allowed Williams to equalise with us in the Constructors Championship, after Ozzie Mark Webber hauling 4 points back in his FW27. The Grove-based team have equalled our 47 points, in joint 3rd.
