Italy: Trulli hopes for a podium at his home race

Jarno Trulli heads towards his home Grand Prix with high hopes of a return to the podium. The fast Italian remains positive about his chances even though after the Monza test his main rivals seemed quicker.

Jarno has never finished on the podium at the legendary Monza race track, and even though teams like BAR Honda are coming strong, the Italian is keen to stress that his main aim is to finish within the top 3; "I'm looking forward to the weekend and it will be great to go there with a car that can challenge for the points or even a podium".

Jarno also stated that his rivals, namely Japanese rival BAR Honda, are becoming stronger race by race, and that Toyota risk flouting amongst the mid field; "We learned quite a lot but it was a full, busy test and some of the opposition did seem to be very quick," Trulli said. "The front of the grid is very competitive in Formula 1 at the moment but we will analyse everything and obviously I want to score more points in my home race."

Teammate Ralf Schumacher, who has missed the last two Italian Grand Prix's due to accidents or illness, will also be hoping to add to his points tally, and to help close the gap to Ferrari in the constructors championship.
