There was none of the rain in this qualifying session like there was this time last week in Japan, instead sunny conditions greeted the drivers in what turned out to be a disappointing qualy session for the Panasonic Toyota Racing Team.

It was always going to be tough for Italian Jarno Trulli as he was the third car out after he lost out in a kamakazie move from Takuma Sato in the last race. Trulli set a time of 1m36.044s which left him an unflattering 12th on the grid. Team mate Ralf Schumacher did not fare much better, the German could not repeat his pole position of last weekend in Japan and he finished 9th. Maybe Toyota are running heavy? Who knows?! But still, whatever happens in tommorrow's race it has been a fantastic year for Toyota, a year in which they have improved dramatically to cement their place as front runners in Formula 1.

The front row for tommorow's race will be a sea of blue and yellow as new World Champ Fernando Alonso takes pole position ahead of Italian team mate Giancarlo Fisichella with Mclaren super star Kimi Raikkonen in third. The constructors battle tense tommorow but Jenson Button threatens to ruin the party as he will start 4th ahead of Mclaren's Juan Pablo Montoya, who also like Jarno Trulli went out early, but he set a respectable lap time (1m35.188s) which stood the the test of time and he lines up 5th. In sixth position, the Former world champion Michael Schumacher in his Ferrari, this year has been a disappointment for the Scuderia, a year which has yeilded just one win in slightly ''different'' circumstances at Indianapolis! He out qualified his team mate Rubens Barrichello, in his last hoo-rah for the Ferrari team, he starts 8th. Red Bull Racing's British driver David Coulthard will be the meat in that Ferrari sandwich he set a time of 1m35.428s, to out qualify his younger team mate Christian Klien who has really put in some mega Qualifying efforts in the past few races but Klien this time had a problamatic lap and he lines up in 14th place!

Mark Webber starts 10th in the Williams just ahead of Felipe Massa who starts his last race for Sauber before he goes to Ferrari. This will be Massa's last race for Sauber but this will also be Saubers last race before BMW takes control for next year. In 14th spot will be Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia in the Williams. He had a golden opportunity to shine when Nick Heidfeld was forced to sit out the year with a injury, but Pizzonia has really made a mess of this chance, he has only scored 2 points and there a signs coming out of the Williams team that GP2 Champion Nico Rosberg will get the drive alongside Mark Webber next season. In 15th place and a real good effort from India's fastest driver(!) Narian Karthikeyan in the Jordan; he out qualifies the likes of Jacques Villeneuve who starts 16th and Takuma Sato who starts 17th. Like Sauber this will also be Jordan and Minardi's last race before the teams become Team Midland and Squadra Toro Rosso respectively next season. Christijan Albers gave Minardi something to cheer about as he beats Tiago Monteiro to 18th place, Monteiro lines up 19th and Robert Doornbos will start last.

It should be a great race!
