Gascoyne’s One Aim – 2006 we win races

After Toyota’s hard fought 2005 season where they clinched fourth in the constructors’ championship, Mike Gascoyne has gone on tape saying that 2006 will be the season where Toyota win races. This comes after missed opportunities during 2005, most noticeably in Belgium and Japan. After achieving a record breaking 88 points this season with 5 podiums and 2 poles, Mike Gascoyne has made it clear his team must win in 2006. ''I think we've proved we know what we're doing,'' Mike Gascoyne said, ''but we've got to start winning some races. It has got to be possible next year.'' Without [the Michelin teams’ boycott of] Indianapolis, and really off our own backs, we should have finished third.” Toyota missed out on third place by 12 points to Ferrari.

Mike concluded that Toyota’s ‘One Aim’ was simple: “We’ve got to start winning some races”.

This comes after rumours here at Totally Toyota F1 that our Mike could leave Toyota at the end of the 2006 season…
