Toyota head to Malaysia, a week after being humiliated in Bahrain where Toyota finished a disappointing 14th and 16th. But, race drivers Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher are looking to a more positive second race of the season, where they hope to introduce a softer Bridgestone tyre. Jarno Trulli summed up his Bahrain opener as the “worst moment” in his racing career; this was coupled with an apology from the Director Technical Coordination for Panasonic Toyota Racing to the fans. Whilst many theories surround Toyota’s shocking lack of pace, a clear leader has been found in that the Bridgestone tyre used in Bahrain struggled to reach the optimum temperature, thus looking almost brand new at the end of the race.

Jarno said, "It's especially difficult for me because I know the car is quick, it's just that we have got this problem that we can't get any heat in the tyres."

"We have to apologise for our performance in Bahrain, but give us a few races and we will bounce back."

Whilst Ralf was optimistic that the team are on the road to a solution; "We have a different tyre choice here. The track conditions should be a bit better for us so in general, yes, it should be a lot better here."
