Edouard Michelin the great, great nephew of company founder Andre Michelin, has died in a boating accident near Britanny, in France early on Friday morning. Edouard had announced the withdraw of the tyre manufacture from Formula One after their handling over last years United States Grand Prix. Edouard came to the head of the Michelin Company in 1999 after being appointed by his father, Francios. The manufacture would later re-enter Formula One winning the world championship in 2005. But after the United States Grand Prix where Michelin had to withdraw all their cars over tyre failures, their future in the sport was cut apart after being criticized by the media and Formula One itself.

TotallyToyotaF1.com would like to forward its condolences to Edouard Michelin’s family.
