The much loved ASIMO, Honda's ground breaking humanised robot, will be making his first visit to a Formula One Grand Prix this weekend, as the "Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility" appears at the Candian Grand Prix in Montreal on Thursday, alongside Honda Racing F1's Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.

As a major sponsor of the race, Honda will showcase its leadership in safety, environment and fun-to-drive technology by bringing the world's most advanced humanoid robot. ASIMO will give a presentation on Honda's 'green, safe, fun' initiatives and interact with Honda Racing F1 Team drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello at a press conference tomorrow.

"We are involved in the Grand Prix du Canada because of our heritage in motorsports and in support of the Honda Racing F1 Team," said Jim Miller, executive vice president at Honda Canada. "As our founder Soichiro Honda said, 'Without racing there is no Honda.' Throughout a half-century of racing, Honda has turned inspiration into innovation and dreams into reality. The Grand Prix du Canada provides us an excellent backdrop to showcase Honda's innovations in the arena of mobility, including our competition in F1 racing."

A major attraction for racing fans at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is Honda World, a spectacular exhibit designed to bring race fans closer to Honda's innovations in the areas of safety, environment and technology through all its products, including cars, trucks, ATVs, motorcycles and a wide range of power equipment. The climate-controlled environment will feature Honda's famed RA272 F1 race car driven to Honda's first F1 victory at the Mexican Grand Prix by Richie Ginther in 1965.
