As the weekend draws closer the activity hastens at the Turkish Grand Prix. The circuit is a 5.335 km track that contains 14 turns. The course will challenge the driver’s neck muscles because of the anti-clock wise motion. This Tilke design will most likely again question overtaking.

Mercedes GP will enter the Turkish GP with renewed optimism after a good points producing performance in the China. We will see if the added prep time between races will show us new upgrades that may provide more good results.

Hopefully the use of KERS and the movable rear wings combined with the faster wearing Pirelli’s will create lead changes, overtaking and a back to back exciting 58 lap race.

The DRS activation zone will stay open until drivers reach the breaking area at turn 12. The FIA also confirms the detection point for the device will start just before the breaking zone in turn 9. That means drivers will once again not have the full length of the longer straight of the track to use the DRS.

Previous Turkish winners have included, Lewis Hamilton, 2010, Jenson Button 2009, Massa in 2006-7-8 and Kimi in 2005.
