As we prepare for the Spanish Grand Prix a new Mercedes team is beginning to surface. Our drivers seem to be gelling along with the upgrades and an improving pace. Expectations of the W02 are being taken more serious by teams we are chasing. We have seen our team off to a slow start but there have been moments in the last two outings that indicate hard work is beginning to pay dividends.

Nico has beaten Michael since the MGP partnership began last season. He continues to lead the point’s race so far in 2011. Schumacher has taken a lot of stick since returning to the sport. As uncomfortable as this must be for the man who's fans are use to watching him race for victories and drivers championships refuses to waver from his quest to work his way back to the front.

Nico insists he has not lost any respect for the seven time champion by saying, “after all he is and remains the most successful racing driver of all time.” Rosberg goes on to say, it’s very hard to be quicker than his team mate. This accomplishment requires Nico to work hard in every aspect. He feels he must make everything come together in every practice session, qualifying attempt, and every lap of the race to stay ahead. He is happy all the above facets of F1 racing have worked so far against Michael, but he also knows it can change with the next race if he slips up.

One of the positive effects the team receives is Michael’s talents push Nico to drive at his optimum. As Schumacher becomes more in harmony with his return along with the improvements of the car and the faster pace both drivers should continue to move forward in their quests to win.

Those who admire Michael are watching and waiting for his bust out performance. Recently there are more and more indications this will happen.

Another positive note seems to be the camaraderie between Mercedes GP drivers is increasing.

We are beginning to see videos and ads showing a mellower Michael supporting the team and a less self-serving attitude.

From a Mercedes GP fans perspective this shows our teams drivers in a more positive light, with strong support for each other as well as the team itself. A lighter side of Michael Schumacher may be portrayed lately, but make no mistake he remains the hard nosed competitor who will take advantage of any error others provide during the heat of battle. He’s in it to win as he was the day he entered the sport.
