MGP is entering the last race of the European circuit this weekend. Hopes are extremely high within the team that good results can be accomplished in back to back races. Finishing fifth and sixth in Spa was definitely a job well done by MGP.
I guess the big question is can Mercedes GP do it again? Monza is another driver’s dream track; it is truly a historic formula one circuit that is warmly supported by swarms of enthusiastic fans. It serves up the fastest speeds of the year with an average speed of 255kph; the season average is 211kph. The straights allow for speeds up to 340kph.
The DRS can be used 74% of the lap (or 4.29 km) in practice and qualifying, the highest percentage of the season.
Michael is looking forward to racing where he has always received great support from the fans. He was extremely pleased with the car at Spa and enjoyed the overtaking opportunities the track offered. He feels Monza offers the same characteristics and is anticipating a repeat performance.
Nico is heading to Monza with hopes for another good result.
“I’m looking forward to the weekend in Monza. We learned at the last race in Spa that our car can be competitive at high speed tracks, and we definitely took a step forward there. I am confident that we can do it again in Italy. I visited the factory and I’m quite happy with how things are working out there. I’ll be arriving in Italy on Wednesday and attending the FOTA Fans Forum at Pirelli’s headquarters in Milan.”
We at MGP are anticipating more good results as well, and are hoping you are too. Please feel welcome to post your opinions on our Total Mercedes message board.
