MercedesAMG F1 Suzuka 2013 (11.-13.10.2013)

By Timba7
October 8 2013

One of the favorite tracks of most F1 drivers. There is many fast corners and a big difference in altitudes along the way. Many high spots and low spots on the circuit. Which makes it a very interesting track for drivers. It is refreshingly John Hugenholz design 1986. Suzuka has been a title decisive GP in many times. Can you remember Prost vs. Senna? :) Good luck to Nico and Lewis!! See the track layout here:

If Hami has to win another race this year, this one please: one of the classics.

But probably another result like Korea, hopefully they don't mess it up as Timba mentioned.

Still hoping for the Lewis suzuka win(Sm46), but I'm afraid RBR (and Lotus) might be too strong again.

another disastrous race for merc

Lewis went for it (but had to pay the price of not having luck with him again)

Merc messed up nico's race with the unsafe release.

Ow jeezes, if this trend continues we still finish 4th... Now that would be a massive letdown!

True that. Not good at all. Romain squeezed Vettel so he had no where to turn.

Nico lost few places. After another bad call by team.

...side notice from the race. RB strategy, WOW!! WTF they leapfrogged Romain with great strategy change by 2 cars.

No the RBR was just too fast for him, I'm afraid.

BTW how come that merc is so slow on the straights with the best engine?

I dont know. Maybe Romain could have won by copying Vettels strategy. I mean he was infront of Vettel and then they took him in while Vettel stayed for 10 or so laps.

Lotus is good with tires, so basically they took him in too early.

But ofcourse even then Vettel probably would have catched him. Dont know.

But Vettel got easy overtaking coz he had so much fresher tires. It was strategy call... and clearly it worked.

That Lotus couldn't have won with a rocket up it's ass.

The RBR just has more than any other car can overcome right now. That's really all there is to it.

Atleast they had a chance... and to me they went for wrong strategy. But maybe Romain had eaten his tires. And afterall Vettel just cruised behind them and saved the tires?

So might be you are totally right Parm. But nevertheless if we think only the pit stop strategy. RB won it 100-0.

This season is so boring, can't wait for it to end. Even a merc win is out of the window with the dreadful performances of the last few races.

All these races in Asia and the middle east are just KILLING this sport. Yes, Bernie makes his money...but NOBODY is there. NOBODY is watching.

If you had told me 30 years ago that the sport would be like this I would have said you're out of your mind.
