Germany: Free practice sees BAR beaten

The Saturday free practice sessions have been completed at Hockenheim, and it's the boys from Williams BMW who lead the way again. Juan Pablo Montoya led the first session with a time of 1:15.668, ahead of Rubens Barrichello, Ralf Schumacher, Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen and Jarno Trulli. The Lucky Strike BAR Honda's of Jenson Button and Jacques Villeneuve were down in 10th and 14th, 1.289 and 1.685 seconds off the pace of the Colombian.

The second session saw some changes, but it was still a Williams at the top of the time sheets, this time driven by Ralf Schumacher. Setting a time of 1:15.387, Ralf was ahead of Rubens in second place again, team mate Montoya, Alonso, Trulli and Kimi.

Despite improving their times, Jenson and Jacques still languished in the midfield, this time in 9th and 10th, with Jenson easing ahead by just 0.003 seconds.
