Takuma Sato was back in action at Mugello on Wednesday after his previous day's testing programme had been curtailed by a high speed 'off'. Although his car suffered only minor accident damage in the incident, Sato banged his leg and was sent to a local hospital for a precautionary X-ray, which revealed no injuries.

The Lucky Strike BAR Honda test team made overnight repairs to the damaged chassis and Takuma returned to his testing duties, underlining his physical fitness by completing no fewer than 98 trouble-free laps during the day.

Meanwhile Anthony Davidson clocked up 100 laps in the second BAR005 to ensure significant progress was made in the team's preparations for the final Grand Prix of the season at Suzuka in Japan.
