As Lucky Strike BAR Honda gears up for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, the team is delighted to announce that it has secured a Team Supplier agreement with Italian machining manufacturer, JOBS. The partnership will begin with immediate effect, and will involve JOBS providing BAR with a LinX Compact T3D 5-axis machining centre, which will be located in the team's in-house machine shop.

This new machining centre is an innovative combination of linear motors and high rigidity structures which guarantees maximum performance in speed and acceleration, high accuracy and finish quality, and elimination of wearing mechanical components. It will provide a 40% reduction in machining times of parts for the BAR Honda 006.

BAR Deputy Technical Director, Gary Savage, said "The JOBS machining centre will help us in our continuous effort to improve the engineering of our race cars. The JOBS LinX Compact is the perfect machine for BAR as its new technology offers great accuracy alongside reduced machining time. JOBS is an ideal partner for BAR, as its wealth of experience in the high-technology automotive and aerospace sectors is important to us as we continue to push the boundaries of manufacturing excellence."

Antonio Dordoni, JOBS Sales Director, commented "Thanks to the very high performance of LinX and the results achieved by the customers, BAR selected LinX Compact for the production of parts. This represents an evident differentiation compared to other suppliers of machine tools and systems, and an element of satisfaction in the reduction of machining time, enabling the team to be more competitive. These results are evidence of the ability of JOBS and its staff to offer products with the highest performance and quality."
