Various websites around the net are reporting that Takuma Sato has opted to take a new Honda engine for today's European Grand Prix. However, BAR-Talk.com can confirm that he is still using the five week old engine from San Marino. Given the grid positions of the BAR Honda's, it was not unreasonable to assume that they may change engines, giving themselves more chance of a mid-pack finish, and making life easier at the next race in Canada, before getting new engines again at Indianapolis.

However, the team are confident that the engines will last the distance, and have therefore opted to retain the existing units.

As such, Takuma Sato is lining up in 16th position for the race.
