Lucky Strike BAR Honda's team boss Nick Fry was particularly pleased with Jenson Button's qualifying performance this afternoon, and says he's aiming for the podium. "The first two rows of the grid for the amount of fuel we've got on board is perfect so we're very happy," said Fry immediately after qualifying.

"We've got to be realistic," he continued. "The McLaren especially is very fast indeed, they've probably got the best car overall at the moment."

Kimi Raikkonen managed to outpace Jenson in qualifying, but a late engine change means the Finn will drop back down to 12th on the grid, five places behind Takuma Sato. Fernando Alonso went quickest for pole position, despite admitting that he didn't expect Renault to perform well at Silverstone.

The partisan crowd showed their support for Jenson with a huge cheer as he crossed the line, and lots of horn blowing as he appeared in the pitlane.

"There's great support for Jenson," commented Fry. "He really has driven superbly this weekend. Those of you who were watching the in car shots can see just how smooth he is.

"We're in with a good chance and we hope to get him on the podium."
