Germany: Takuma Sato looking for a strong race

Takuma Sato heads to Hockenheim keen to finally put some points on the board for Lucky Strike BAR Honda, following a strong performance at the British Grand Prix and testing at Jerez. An early problem with pressing buttons caused Takuma all sorts of difficulties, and ended up with the driver running two laps behind team mate Jenson Button but, once on his way, his performance was reasonably impressive.

Last season Takuma managed to secure eight place at Hockenheim, despite a startling mid-race spin when his HANS device worked loose.

"We completed a good test in Jerez this week," says Sato, "and we have made a positive step forward with a small aero upgrade, so the car is performing well.

"Hockenheim is a great circuit," he adds. "The long straight with late braking provides good overtaking opportunities.

"The German Grand Prix is always exciting and I believe that we can have another strong race and carry over the momentum from the British GP to Hockenheim this week."
