Italy: Jenson Button hoping to improve pace

Jenson Button is looking forward to racing at Monza as his BAR Honda team prepare to fight for a repeat of last years podium finish. "We had a very good race in Monza last year when we finished on the podium," said Jenson, "and I am looking forward to racing there this week following our strong performance in Turkey.

"We had a positive weekend in Turkey and I'm sure we can improve our pace and have a competitive weekend in Monza."

At the Turkish Grand Prix two weeks ago, Jenson secured an impressive fifth place finish, despite a poor grid slot following a mistake in qualifying.

Despite being dominated by the Ferrari-loving Tifosi, Jenson appreciates the Monza fans. "They're very passionate about the sport," says Button, "and the atmosphere is always great over the race weekend."

At last years Italian Grand Prix, Jenson Button started sixth, finishing on the podium behind Ferrari drivers Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher.
