Honda Racing F1's corporate marketing director, Alistair Watkins, has quit the team. Alongside 19 Entertainment, Watkins was responsible for overseeing the introduction of the radical 'earth' livery this year, and will now leave the team to take up a marketing position with Team Anlinghi, the Swiss entry in the Americas Cup.

Watkins, the son of F1 legend Professor Sid Watkins, was the former FIA Media Delegate before joining the marketing team at then BAR Honda under David Richards. Previously an Army officer, Watkins also saw service with the Coldstream Guards in the Gulf War, as well as Northern Ireland.

Watkins now leaves the team to work on sponsorship programmes with the yachting team. "Alistair will be joining us from the Honda Racing F1 Team," said Ernesto Bertarelli, president of Team Anlinghi. "He brings a wealth of experience and insight of sports marketing at the very highest level."
