Rumours of Buttongate #3 have started surfacing following the poor start to 2007 by the Honda Racing F1 team, with some outlets suggesting that Jenson Button is looking to move elsewhere, possibly to pitlane rivals Toyota. This follows previous contract difficulties from Button, where he initially signed for Williams while under contract to Honda. The driver was ultimately forced to remain at Honda by F1 Contract Review Board, but promptly re-signed for Williams immediately after. However, a poor showing from Williams, and the loss of BMW engines, then led Button to extricate himself from that contract, with the help of a few million dollars, and remain at Honda.

Now some media outlets, including British tabloid the News of the World, are suggesting that Button will once again attempt to claw his way out of a contract in order to avoid the problems in Brackley.

Denying that, Jenson's manager, Richard Goddard, explained "Jenson is still supporting Honda.

"Clearly, the team is not where it should be, but we're not going to jump ship," he told Autopsort. "We're not shopping around and I'm not talking to anyone at the moment. There is no other team that can give us a better place to be."

The last comment would appear to be true, with no seats available at Ferrari, McLaren or BMW-Sauber for the foreseeable future, while Renault have a large number of drivers under contract. The only viable options would be Toyota or, amusingly, Williams.
