The Honda Racing F1 Team commenced the final test of the 2008 season at Jerez in southern Spain yesterday. The four-day programme began with a Young Driver Day which saw Mike Conway at the wheel of the team’s Kinetic Energy Recovery System development car.
The KERS system is being introduced to Formula One in 2009 as part of the sport’s drive to develop environmental technologies.
Mike completed four runs over 20 laps in the morning session before a sensor wiring problem brought the day’s running to an earlier than planned conclusion.
Test and Reserve Driver Alex Wurz will continue the test programme today in the team’s RA108 car.
