Mercedes AMG is nearly at the ½ way stage of its third season and will be going into their home GP at Hockenheim.

All the growing pains and teething should be over. Ross has used up his reasons why the Silver Arrows are not going for podiums and wins. Thank goodness Nico has taken the new team to heights that was expected of the 7 times WDC. Michael has taken more than enough time to finally start to show signs of his past career. He showed he had the pace to grab the pole in Monaco even if it was snatched away because of a previous race error. Recently he finished on the podium by almost fluke. It wasn’t a complete fluke because he stayed ahead of a pushing Red Bull and was far enough up the grid to seize the opportunity when it was presented.

Both drivers looked as though they were in for a decent showing at Silverstone but maybe got caught out banking too much on rainy race. Now the stage is set for a home race in Hockenheim. Again both drivers at Mercedes AMG are expected to be near or at the top going into this weekend. There are some of the same possible conditions to deal with in 67 lap race. The weather is always in question in Germany with the cool temperatures and the possibility of rain. So far the forecast only calls for a rainy qualification day which can complicate the cars set-up for Sunday’s race as we saw in England.

We are expecting additional up-grades to further our chances, but until the checker flag waves it’s still a guess on which drivers and teams will get things right.
