Lucky Strike BAR Honda race drivers Jenson Button and Jacques Villeneuve were on track today at Silverstone circuit, continuing a mammoth three day test for the team, although not without problems. The two BARs finished at the bottom of the timesheets split by Felipe Massa, driving a Ferrari, with Jacques being some 2 seconds off the pace set by Rubens Barrichello. Jenson set a best lap time of 1:22.039, 1.314 seconds behind the leading Ferrari.

Jenson suffered one failure early on, followed by a brief fire on Villeneuve's car. Villeneuve then suffered a gearbox failure. Despite these problems, BAR still managed to complete aero testing of a new airbox, as well as tyre testing for Bridgestone.
